My first trip overseas was to Perth. Nice weather, a beautiful city and friendly people created a wonderful environment that gave me the power to change my nervousness into a positive feeling.  I initiated conversations (in English) with people who I don’t know, and I joined a sightseeing tour by myself. I never imagined that I could do those sorts of things when I was in Japan.
The confidence it gave me, and the 3 weeks of full living will always be a treasure in my life!
Finally, I really appreciate Steve’s help, and for giving me a wonderful opportunity.
Thank you so much!!!

Steve introduced me to Perth and I visited there when I was 18 years old. Since then I really love Perth. The weather is nice, the people are friendly, and the central business and shopping area of the city, known as the “City Centre”, is safe. Also as the capital city of Western Australia, Perth is a reasonably big city, but not too busy, so it is very easy to live in. Almost all the host families live in the suburbs, so you feel comfortable. Public transport is cheap and easy to get.
Some of the students are Japanese, and others are from Korea, Thailand, Turkey, France and other European countries. All the students have a good time learning English.
There are ranges of English levels, so you’ll be able to take the level that suits you and improve yourself. There are many computers in the school, with email and the internet, which students can use any time for free. Also, the teachers are interesting. I really recommend this school.
There are no bounds to say good things about Perth. I like Perth the best of the foreign cities that I’ve been to. Please go to Perth! When you go, you should call Steve. I think it is worth it. It IS worth it! To prove it, I went to Perth through him twice!
Everyone - Let’s go to Perth!!

Perth is a really easy place to live in. It is very safe, and I recommend it to anyone going overseas for the first time. People in Perth are so kind, when I lost my way, people helped me nicely with a smile.
My host family considered me like their own family; they took me to the beach and festivals on the holidays. I became good friends with the host children. We played together, played catch ball, watched TV, and so on.
It was only 3 weeks, but when I left to come home, it was really hard to say good bye.
Also Perth is beautiful and the food was delicious. I always felt content. I recommend “Kings Park”. It is a beautiful park, and you can see all the city of Perth from there.
I still keep in touch with my host family and friends. I would like to visit Perth again in the near future.

My host family spoke slowly for me, so even though it was hard to understand English at first, gradually it got easier. There were many benefits for my English study. I was very glad about that, and I enjoyed the conversations. There were also many other good things. I am really happy that I went to Australia!

I let my daughter go to Australia because I wanted her to know about other cultures. There are many people and different ways of thinking in the world, not only Japanese. Also I wanted to give her the opportunity to actually use English, which she likes. Her first words when she came out of the gate at the airport were, “I want go back to Australia”. I am appreciative that Steve and her host family enabled her to enjoy herself so much. This was a good opportunity that let my daughter be independent. As parents, we too got confidence that she can be independent. We would like the host family to come to Japan if they have a chance. Please continue to guide our daughter as her English teacher in the future. Thank you very much.

I experienced lots and lots of Australian nature. It was fantastic to see the Australian landscape in the early morning sun. My host family were really wonderful people. I have a lot of good memories!

I wanted her to feel that people are the same even if they are from different countries and different cultures. Also I wanted to generally broaden her horizons. I think that she felt that families, friends and host family - everyone who surrounded her - cared about her.

The nature around Bunbury was wonderful. For me that was great, because I love nature.
My host family took me to lots of different places, and also they are really nice people, which was best thing.

Chisato’s parents
We let our daughter join this trip because it is wonderful to know and understand different cultures’ people and families. Steve accompanied the students, and he was there during the stay, so we were able to make contact with the host family at any time. So we weren’t too worried or nervous, which was good. As this trip to Australia was her first trip overseas, it was good that she could go through Steve and stay with a family he knows and who treated her extremely well. This gave her a wonderful feeling. Thank you very much.

I enjoyed playing games with my host family and we went out to many places. As I imagined, my host family were nice people.

Kei’s parents
The travel cost was reasonable which helped us a lot.
I wasn’t too worried about letting my daughter go overseas because I trusted Steve very much. I let her go because it would be good for her English study. Her host family treated her well, and I think she had a good experience. I hope you can help many people have the same experience.

I felt that Australia is a beautiful place. My host family was always kind to me, and I really enjoyed staying with them. The beach was the most enjoyable. I became good friends with my host family, and that made me very happy. I felt that the trip went too quick. I could stay in Australia a little more.

Kazuhisa’s parents
My son had a really good time. I appreciate his host family’s hospitality.
I let my son go on the trip because I wanted him to know there others in the world having a not so different life as us, and who would treat him with love.
In his life in Japan he seemed nervous and irritated, but he looks more relaxed after coming home from the trip.
To be honest, I was little worried about him missing some study time, but he had great experiences on this valuable trip, which is far more important. I really appreciate Steve’s and his host family’s help. Thank you very much for doing such a lot of work.
